Having owned my e-tron for a year and a half and 70,000km and a few services over its lifetime I am impressed with how it has held up.

Along with the complementary service that Audi offers to customers (six years) really helps the whole EV experience, in addition, Audi adds six years of free fast and ultra-fast charging for its customers.
I have used DC charging almost daily and never paid a cent. Unfortunately, I’ve started to see a drop in battery range, a few months ago I was getting 370km and now it’s down to 250km on a 100% charge which isn’t ideal.
Another problem I experienced was the wing cams forming condensation, luckily Audi replaced it under warranty.
What about the ownership experience with your car?
In general the experience of owning an EV and being in public charging is easier than first thought, the cost saving benefits are a huge improvement over my previous diesel BMW.
My customers love the car and I have some who will buy one the next day. Some days are not perfect like if a charging station is down or there is a queue at the chargers.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
Buying from Audi was easy and quick, there are lots of helpful people and I made good friends along the way with the Audi team at Audi Center Sydney.
The car has held strong over time, the only modifications I’ve made are changing the rear badges to black which really help contrast with the car as well as the silver and black detailing. I would recommend PPF because my car has had some rock chips and paint chips around the front and rear bumpers.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
The price may not be attractive, but for those who can afford it, it’s more about the quality you’re paying for than range or performance.
The side cameras that my first edition came with were a challenge at first but after a week you get used to the idea of using them properly, they work really well at night and on rainy days. . I like that the charging port location is on either side of the AC which makes it easy to reach the cable when needed.
What do you think about your car’s performance and economy?
Since I don’t pay for any fuel the savings are huge and charging the e-tron is great.
Although it can take a maximum of 150kW on a single charge, what the e-tron does well is manage a constant charge rate from 150kW to almost 100 percent. The car’s size doesn’t bode well for efficiency when it comes to aerodynamics and weight, returning around 25kWh/100km.
What about the technology in your car?
The technology is easy to use and follow: three screens are highly configurable for climate, media and the driver display that the driver wants to use.
The cameras provide the car with a more futuristic look and are sure to draw attention to those who haven’t seen the car driving yet.
It might not have YouTube or Netflix and games, but you can definitely enjoy the B&O in-car sound system. The surrounding cameras show realistic camera angles and details that help make parking a lot easier for this long SUV.
How about your ride comfort and handling of your car?
The e-tron comes with air suspension as standard which helps with ride comfort and the vehicle’s sportiness in various modes and there are plenty to choose from.
You can change the vehicle height which is useful in different situations. Quick acceleration is very handy to overtake or launch the car if you need it. It also gives confidence to the driver.
Behind the steering wheel, you can find paddle shifters that can adjust the car’s regenerative braking but unfortunately, the car won’t come to a complete stop which would be nice as an option.
