2021 Hyundai i30 Owner’s Review – Dubai Car News

About the Hyundai i30

Emma W bought this Hyundai i30 new for $27,000 (including all on-road costs). Emma W would buy this car again because: “I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the exact same car again. It has proved reliable and fun to drive. I also considered the Mazda 3 at the time of purchase but the C pillar I ruled it out due to the more obvious blind spots around it. I also considered the Toyota Corolla Hybrid hatch but the small boot space ruled it out. It was also disappointing that a new car at this price still had There was a plastic steering wheel.

How reliable has your car been? Let us know about any issues.

The car is now a year old and has covered only 10,000 km so far but has performed flawlessly. It’s survived by a 17-year-old P1 driver who runs the school every day and travels to Bribie Island for schoolchildren without a hitch.

What about the ownership experience with your car?

Hyundai didn’t come with any fancy membership programs, however, the customer service associated with its first logbook service was professional and hassle-free.

I bought the car for my daughter when she got her P1 license and she was more than happy with it.

How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?

I bought the car from McKay Hyundai and the sales person was very easy to deal with. As a side issue with the lack of vehicles due to COVID I couldn’t haggle too much with the price.

The vehicle was delivered to my workplace with a full tank of fuel.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

I think the i30 is great value for money. It has active cruise control and autonomous emergency braking which is much appreciated at this price point.

The car comes standard with Apple CarPlay and the rear passengers have their own air vents. It also has Active Lane Keeping Assist.

I tend to turn it off as it can be a little intrusive, however on the highway it works very well with the cruise control set. The vehicle will basically steer itself after marking the road line on the highway and adjust speed to match the vehicle in front via active cruise control.

All it takes is a slight movement of the steering wheel to let the car know that you are not asleep and that you are paying attention. It’s surprising to think that the kind of features that were not long ago the S-Class Mercedes’ likes have now found themselves confined to a $27,000 car.

What do you think about your car’s performance and economy?

The vehicle averages 8.0L per 100 km which is certainly not the most economical in its class, however, all its journeys are in hilly terrain and the majority of it is during peak hours.

I considered a hybrid Corolla but the increased boot space made the i30 more suitable for my needs.

What about the technology in your car?

The technology of this vehicle is one of the main reasons to buy this vehicle. While I drive a Commodore that is now almost 17 years old, I wanted my daughter to have a safe car.

It’s interesting to see how far vehicle safety has come in the last few years. The Commodore misses out on full curtain airbags, electronic stability control and autonomous emergency braking. All of these are now standard on the i30.

How about your ride comfort and handling of your car?

I’ve had the chance to drive both the i30 N and the i30 SR and while they’re undeniably better on a twisty mountain road, it’s hard to fault the base i30’s handling and comfort for around-town cruising on the highway. .
