All electric 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQV The People Mover has arrived in Australia, providing drivers with a premium battery-powered option for the first time in the local market.
It comes just 12 months after the brand’s local arm announced the introduction of three battery-powered vans in the second half of 2022, which will join the more affordable eVito panel van and eVito Tourer people mover.
The luxury-focused seven-seat electric van – based on the eight-year-old ‘W447’ V-Class and Vito platform – is priced at $155,338 before on-road costsThat equates to about a $40,000 increase over the diesel V250d, which has a similar power output.
A flagship V-Class, the V300d AMG-Line, retails for $132,480 plus on-road costs.

Under the bonnet, the EQV 300 replaces the V-Class’ turbo diesel engine. A single electric motor that produces 150kW and 365Nm.with power sent to the front wheels.
For reference, the V250d produces 140kW/440Nm, while the more powerful V300d has 174kW and 500Nm.
These features a 90kWh lithium-ion batteryAllows for one WLTP rated 363-km driving rangewith 110kW maximum DC charging rate Bringing a claim 10 to 80 percent top-up in about 45 minutes.
It’s the same setup as the stripped-back eVito Tourer priced at $116,155 before on-road costs, without many of the features for the EQV.

A six-seat configuration is available as a no-cost option with four individual armchairs in the rear, while equipment unique to the EQV includes remote air conditioning and EV-specific information within the infotainment system.
As with Mercedes-Benz’s range of EQ-branded electric vehicles, one in the EQV Free one-year subscription to the ChargeFox public charging networkWhile its high-voltage components are covered by an eight-year/160,000-km warranty.

Powertrains, charging, and driving range
The single-specification EQV 300 has a single electric motor producing 150kW and 365Nm, sending power exclusively to the front wheels.
It has a 90kWh battery pack, with a WLTP-rated 363-km driving range.
According to the brand, the EQV 300 will complete the 0-100km/h sprint in around 12.1 seconds.
There are several charging options for the EQV, including an onboard charger that allows up to 11kW with alternating current (AC).
It also supports direct current (DC) charging of up to 110kW, with a 10 to 80 percent fast charge taking about 45 minutes.

Safety
While the internal combustion V-Class is covered with a five-star ANCAP safety rating, based on testing conducted in 2014, this does not apply to the EQV.
Six airbags (dual front, side and curtain) are fitted across the range.

Dimensions
Mercedes-Benz EQV has a wheelbase of 3200 mm, and is 5140 mm long, 1928 mm wide and 1910 mm high.
This makes it 30mm longer than the diesel V-Class due to the undercarriage of the batteries.
The People Mover has a claimed 1030-litre boot capacity, which expands to 4630L with all seats folded.

Warranty and Servicing
In line with the wide range of Mercedes-Benz, the EQV electric people mover brand Five-year, unlimited kilometer warranty. For commercial use this has been reduced to a five-year/250,000-km period.
This includes a roadside assistance program during the vehicle’s warranty period. The program can be extended for $149.60 per year.
The battery pack is covered by a separate eight-year/160,000km warranty.
Maintenance is recommended every 12 months or 40,000 km, whichever is earlier.
