New for 2023 is standard fitment of lane keep assist and a wireless phone charger, while the Cargo and Crewvan now offer autonomous emergency braking systems with cyclist, pedestrian and junction turn detection.
Further changes include chrome trim on the side doors and tailgate for the Caddy Life’s seven-seat people mover, and pop-out side windows (with up to 40mm of movement) for the Caddy Life, Caddy Crewan and Caddy California.
Due to the lack of a semiconductor chip, Volkswagen Australia notes that the Caddy Cargo will “temporarily” not be available with optional automatic park assist or the 10-inch infotainment system with built-in satellite navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. .

Engine and Drivetrain
Opening the Caddy range is the TSI220, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine with 84kW and 220Nm, available with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch ‘DSG’ automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. .
A choice of two 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines is offered in the Caddy range, although the low-end TDI280 only features in cargo variants, making 75kW of power and 280Nm of torque sent to the front wheels. Is. Six-speed manual gearbox.
