“The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD brings new levels of power and capability to the driver who needs a truck that can handle tough tasks without breaking a sweat,” said Farah Amhaz, head of product marketing, General Motors Africa and Middle East. From offering more confidence and convenience with trailering to a more premium interior and refined design, the 2024 Silverado HD is ready for anything. Up introduces a new dynamic, offering more options to drivers in the region.”
The lineup includes the 2500HD and 3500HD models in regular cab, double cab and crew cab configurations. Dual rear-wheel models are available on the 3500HD and support the lineup’s highest trailering capacity: 16,329 kg.3. The 2024 Silverado HD Work Truck is available in LT and LTZ.
The Allison 10-speed transmission gas engine enhances trailering capability.
For the first time, the proven Allison 10-speed automatic transmission is now standard equipment for the Silverado HD’s powertrain: the 6.6L V-8 gas engine. It replaces the previous six-speed automatic, offering shorter “steps” between gears, enabling the engine to keep closer to its peak power for longer.
These improvements translate to a more confident feeling of power on demand, regardless of whether the truck is pulling a trailer. When it’s time to pull, the 10-speed configuration helps transfer every Nm of torque to the tires in every gear. In turn, the 2024 Silverado HD’s gross combined weight rating with the 6.6L gas engine increases to 11,793 kg.7Before 10,886 kg
Additionally, the Allison transmission’s 10-speed design optimizes grade braking with gas engines, with close gear ratios enabling greater control of engine braking. This, in addition to precise tuning for smooth upshifts and sharp downshifts, complements on-demand power, greater control, precision and an enhanced sense of refinement.
Commanding presence
The 2024 Silverado HD has a commanding presence, driven by a fresh front-end appearance that includes a new fascia, new headlights, new grille and more. The truck’s chiseled appearance is combined with a timeless design that not only looks, but is ready for anything.
C-shaped LED graphic lamps frame the new fascia inspired by the Silverado 1500’s signature design, while bold, new headlights on the LTZ trim feature dual projector technology. The main and high beams of these new lights are now split into dual functions, and as owners approach or depart their 2024 Silverado HD, a dynamic light sequence welcomes them from the truck or bids them farewell. Is.
Additional exterior updates include standard tow hooks, and “CHEVROLET” lettering featured on the hood scoop. Six new exterior colors have also been added: Sterling Grey, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, Auburn Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic (late availability) and Meteorite Metallic (late availability).
On top of numerous updates, the design of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD boasts key features and technologies that contribute to its true truck capability. These include the Durabed cargo box that optimizes every square inch for maximum cargo capacity — including up to 83.5 cubic feet with the long box — as well as the CornerStep rear bumper, BedSteps, an available six-position multi-flex tailgate. Gate, available 220 volts. Power outlet, available power tailgate and more.
Redesigned, more refined interior
In addition to exterior styling updates, all models get a new interior designed for work-ready functionality and next-level technology integration.
LT and LTZ models introduce a dramatically redesigned passenger space centered around an all-new instrument panel with a larger infotainment screen: a 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment1 Display A 12.3-inch diagonal configurable Driver Information Center complements the new infotainment display. The infotainment screen and other controls are also canted towards the driver, giving the driver more of a “command center” view. This ethos draws directly from the simple and iconic style of the C/K series trucks set in the 1970s and 1980s.
This smart command center also includes a newly designed wireless phone charger.4 Distraction reduction area and flow under console. The latter design provides spaciousness of the bench seat while maintaining the functionality of the center console. Next to the driver is an available and configurable head-up display.
“It has a more open feel and a contemporary interior that will invite passengers,” said Phil Zak, executive director of global Chevrolet design. “It’s an environment that deliberately puts more at the driver’s fingertips, for a greater sense of trust and connection with the vehicle.”
