Instead of unveiling a concept vehicle that showcases futuristic design ideas, Audi is offering four. We’ve already seen three, and now we know when the final “Circle” concept will begin. Mark your calendars, because January 26 is the day we finally see the Audi Activesphere coupe-SUV concept in the light.
Until then, we’ll have to settle for a new teaser image that shows the vehicle largely cloaked in darkness. Tweaking photo light levels provides a better view, capturing the swinging roof and flared fenders of this active lifestyle concept seen from above. We are able to see a stylized rear deck and a glass roof, which also offers a glimpse of the interior. There are no details on the exit, but whatever is going on in the cabin, passengers will see red.
The automaker says the concept represents the “ultimate freedom” for those who enjoy the outdoors. Its sleek, sporty looks are packed with extreme off-road capability thanks to its raised suspension and aggressive all-terrain tires. As with previous concepts in this series, this is an all-electric machine. At this time though, Audi doesn’t specify the powertrain details.
Our first taste of Activesphere was in August. Audi presented a three-quarter front view of the concept in shadow. As with the new teaser, we digitally lifted the curtain with some light manipulation to get a better idea of ββthe automaker’s design direction.
Audi’s concept series began in August 2021 with the launch of the Skysphere. As the name suggests, it’s a roofless two-door EV sports car with a long hood and an adjustable wheelbase designed for both comfortable touring, and corner-carving fun. Is. The Grand Spear concept followed in September 2021, sharing some of the Skysphere design features wrapped in a sleek electric sedan that Audi describes as a “private jet for the road.” The Urban Spear took a few more months to debut, but it offered a very different vision in the form of a minivan with an unusually large cabin.
The Activesphere concept will debut on January 26 as part of Audi’s “Celebration of Progress,” though we’ll likely see more teasers leading up to the big reveal.
