The off-road 2023 GWM Tank 300 hybrid SUV has arrived in Australia.

GWM Tank 300 It’s built on design and size comparable to the four-door Jeep Wrangler, but under the skin with more similarities to larger body-on-frame SUVs – such as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Ford Everest.
GWM claims the Chinese-made Tank 300 could be “a strong option for those exploring Australia’s roads, tracks and beyond”, with a 2500kg brake towing capacity, a hybrid powertrain, and an on Demand is four-wheel drive. system

Under the bonnet, the GWM Tank 300 is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid system.
The internal combustion engine offers 180kW and 380Nm, with the electric motor adding 78kW and 268Nm, for a total system output of 224kW and 640Nm.
It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
Fuel economy figures for the 2023 GWM Tank 300 are not yet detailed.

The 2023 GWM Tank 300 has a 33 degree approach angle, 34 degree departure angle and 224 mm ground clearance.
It has an on-demand four-wheel drive system, which includes off-road focused technology including a transparent underfloor view, crawl control, and an aptly named ‘Tank Turn’ function.
The 2023 GWM Tank 300 is yet to be tested by ANCAP or its European counterpart EuroNCAP.
Seven airbags (dual front, side, curtain, and front center) are fitted across the range.

According to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, it has a side-opening tailgate with a rear-mounted full-size spare tire – allowing for more interior space and a larger 80-litre fuel tank.
Warranty and Servicing
Like the wider GWM range, the Tank 300 is covered by the brand’s seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Maintenance details for the Tank 300 are yet to be specified, but it is included in GWM’s five-year capped-price servicing program.
Roadside assistance is complimentary for the first five years of ownership.
