BMW Australia A refund has been issued for this. 2022 i4 and 2021-22 iX Electric vehicles due to fire hazard.

The issue affects six i4 and five iX units. As of the end of October, BMW has registered 203 i4s and 380 iXs in 2022.

According to a recall notice issued by the Department of Infrastructure, the high-voltage battery may not meet specifications and may discharge due to a “manufacturing defect.”

As a result, BMW says this could cause the vehicle to catch fire, increasing the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and pedestrians, and property damage. can

BMW will contact owners of affected vehicles and request them to visit a service center to have the affected high-voltage battery cells replaced free of charge.
