The first edition of BMW’s Joy Town Festival was held in Delhi recently. And if you have attended, you would know that the German carmaker has planned to launch five more products in the Indian market by January next year with growth expected in the coming years.
The car manufacturer had a target of introducing 8 products in 8 weeks. Of which, it has already followed through and launched three of them. Flagship SUV XM at Rs. 2.6 crore, the facelifted M340i at Rs. 69.2 lakh and its S 1000RR superbike at Rs. 24.45 lakhs at the Delhi edition of its Joytown festival.
What is BMW JoyTown Festival?
JoyTown is basically a car festival where BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad showcase their exciting products as well as launch them.
Being India’s first music and driving festival, the fest has a fun fair-like atmosphere. The event is packed with exciting product displays and interactive activities such as stunts by BMW drivers where anyone can experience drifting from the driver’s seat. Moreover, there are food trucks with good music.
It’s a contemporary way of bringing products to market with a more immersive experience than traditional car launches. This results in better brand reach as a larger number of interested people can visit events from different locations.
BMW Joytown is scheduled to take place on 7th in Mumbai.Th And 8Th It will be held on the 28th of January next year while in Bengaluru.Th And 29Th January 2023. The brand will launch all its upcoming offerings at its Mumbai and Bengaluru events.
Launches
We will see the Bavarian automaker launch its most tech-packed flagship luxury sedan – the 7 Series in its seventh generation guise. The S-Class rival sedan will also come in an all-electric avatar, namely the i7.
After that, it will be the company’s best-selling offering – the new generation X1. This entry-level SUV from BMW is now bigger than its rivals and will be launched at the Bengaluru Joytown event.
The other two launches will be the facelifted X7 and the facelifted 3 Series Gran Limousine. The X7 will come with a revised front fascia and will proudly sport BMW’s latest curved infotainment system. The three-row SUV will also get other new features. While the 3 Series Gran Limo is in its 7th.Th Typically, it will get a new plug-in hybrid petrol motor along with other petrol and diesel options.

BMW Group India President and CEO Vikram Pawa said, “This is our 15th year of operations in India and it is shaping up to be the best year ever in our history. Till November, we have achieved year-on-year growth in our car sales. The year saw a 40% growth in motorcycle sales and 46% growth in 2018. With new product launches, we expect this growth to continue next year as well.
“The pace of demand for our EVs has been phenomenal. It is currently around 10% of total sales for all three of our EVs. The i4 is expected by the end of next year,” Pava added.
