(Paris, France, December 21, 2022) – RM Sotheby’s is pleased to announce that the unique and one-of-a-kind Bugatti Chiron Profilée 1 will be offered for sale at auction in Paris.St February, 2023. Conceived as a less radical interpretation of the Chiron Pur Sport, the profile is unique in character and design. With all build slots for the Chiron family sold and assigned, the Profile auction in Paris is the only chance to acquire one of the W16-powered Bugatti creations direct from the Molsheim atelier.
With the unveiling of the Chiron Pur Sport in 2020, the world was shown the most extreme variant of the Chiron family. To meet customer requests for a Chiron model that would integrate aspects of the Pur Sport character, while maintaining the timeless elegance of models like the Chiron or Chiron Sport, the profile was born.
Christophe Puchon, president of Bugatti Automobilessaid: “In order to seriously explore a less radical version of the Pur Sport, in keeping with customer wishes, we started with the design and development of the Chiron Profilée in autumn 2020. Limited to just 500, all Chiron were assigned to the slots. But we knew that what we had created was too beautiful to be hidden. It was – in every way – a unique piece of Bugatti history and a true collector’s item. And we wanted to give any devotee of the Bugatti brand a fair chance to own this unique car, so we decided to partner with RM Sotheby’s to auction it.
Peter Wallman, RM Sotheby’s Chairman, EMEAsaid: “We have a global reputation for bringing the world’s finest cars to market, and above all, the final auction offering is a car that is truly unique. The Profile is a car; a creation.” “Never offered on the market and one of a kind in existence. It is a great honor that Bugatti has entrusted this remarkable car to RM Sotheby’s, which will be offered at our Paris auction.”
The Profilée is a bespoke design showpiece with a neat fixed tail at the rear, which serves two main functions. Firstly, the wing ensures stability and control of the profile up to a top speed of 380 km/h by increasing downforce on the rear axle, and secondly, it allows hot air to escape from the engine compartment through two internal tunnels in the height. Uses negative pressure. – temperature carbon wing. Air flows over the top of the wing to create downforce, but also under the wing to remove air from the engine compartment.
At the front of this unique hyper sports car, the profile was given wider air inlets and an enlarged Bugatti horseshoe grille to help channel more cooling air into the radiators. A revised front splitter works in tandem with a sculpted underbody to further increase downforce and maximize airflow. As with any Bugatti, airflow mastery for both cooling, drag reduction and downforce is fundamental to delivering the exceptional performance that has become the hallmark of Bugatti cars.
In keeping with a character that defines the Chiron lineage, the profile retains much of the purity of the Pur Sport, transferring the high-tech design for superb lateral grip and ultimate acceleration. It is powered by the same 1,500 PS development of the Bugatti W16 engine, with a 15 percent lower transmission ratio. The profile accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds and 200 km/h in 5.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 380 kmph compared to the Cheronpur Sport’s 350 kmph.
The profile is presented in the base color of Argent Atlantique, developed exclusively for this car. There are no other Chiron configurations in this shed. The lower part of the car is finished in exposed carbon fiber, painted in the current Bugatti color of Blue Royal Carbon. The wheels are – again – unique, designed, manufactured and tested specifically for the profile, and finished in a shade of Le Patron, designed to match the carbon tint of the lower half of the body. . Polished aluminum elements reflect the iconic shape of the Bugatti horseshoe grille.
The Profilée interior is familiar to Chiron owners, handcrafted in Bugatti’s Atelier in Molsheim. Designed around authentic and high-quality materials, such as leather, carbon, or solid aluminum, each component is handcrafted and refined over hours. The design itself follows a philosophy of defined minimalism, reducing each component to its simplest and most elegant form. The Profile becomes the first Chiron to be equipped with a leather-trimmed interior trim on the dashboard, door panels and center console. In total, over 2500 meters of leather strips are used to create this intricate and elegant finish. The profile is equipped with comfortable seats finished in Gris Rafale and Deep Blue leather, featuring a quilting pattern, “Air Parade”. The center console features a black anodized frame inlay profile signature. A final unique touch is applied to this special creation.
The Bugatti Chiron Profilée will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s on February 1, with a percentage of the proceeds going to benefit charity.
