BYD has announced the pricing of its second offering for India – the Atto 3 at ₹ 33.99L ex-showroom.
The Atto 3 is BYD’s first product to be made available to the private sector. This is their second product for India as a whole. The previous BYD was the E6 which is an electric MPV for the commercial sector. Atto 3 has already collected 1500 bookings since its unveiling. The first 500 units will be delivered in January 2023.

Design
Overall the Atto 3 is a sporty-SUV styled EV with a bold futuristic design. The Atto 3 measures 4,445mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,615mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 2,720mm. The front has a large blank silver grille flanked by slim LED headlights on each side. LED DRLs mimic the shape of fins. The side has extensive black cladding on the wheel arches. The wheels are 18-inch units finished in dual-tone. The rear gets full-length LED tail lamps and ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering. The Atto 3 will be available in 4 colors – Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue.
Battery, Power and Tech
India’s first model to be built on e-Platform 3.0, featuring a blade battery, an 8-in-1 electric powertrain, and highly integrated domain controllers. The platform features the world’s first 8-in-1 electric powertrain that includes a drive motor, motor controller, reducer, onboard charger, DC converter, high-voltage distribution box, vehicle controller, and battery management system. (BMS) is integrated, resulting in a 20% overall size reduction and 15% weight reduction.
Powering the BYD Atto 3 is a large 60.48 kWh battery pack. The electric motor at the front produces 201 hp of maximum power and 310 Nm of maximum torque. According to the claim, the Atto 3 can go from zero to 100 in just 7.3 seconds and will be able to cover a distance of 521 km on a single charge. With the fast charger, the Atto 3 can be charged from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes. The car also comes with level-2 ADAS features, a panoramic sunroof, rotating infotainment screen, 7 airbags, PM 2.5 air filter etc.
Warranty and other information
It comes with a 3kW charger as standard. BYD also offers a 7kW charger that can be installed at the owner’s desired location at an additional cost. 3 years 4G data subscription is also included in the vehicle price. To promote value and trust in the brand, BYD is offering 6-year RSA and 6 free services to Atto 3 customers. As far as warranty is concerned, the battery gets a warranty of 8 years or 1.6 lakh km, the motor and motor controller get a warranty of 8 years or 1.5 lakh km, and the overall vehicle and its other components get a warranty of 6 years. 1.5 lakh warranty is available.
