Citroen, the iconic French manufacturer and a newcomer in India, which needs no introduction, has announced a price hike for its models in India. Two models, the C5 Aircross and the C3, saw price hikes. Citroen India has announced a price hike of 1.5 to 2 percent for the C3 and C5 Aircross. This increase came into effect from January 1, 2023. Citroen has increased the price of the C5 Aircross by Rs 50,000, while the smaller C3 has seen a price hike of Rs 27,500. The Citroen C5 Aircross sees a price hike in 2022, and the automaker offers the SUV in a single top-spec variant. After the price hike, the Citroen C5 Aircross is now priced at Rs 37.17 lakh, ex-showroom.
As part of the update, Citroen gave the C5 Aircross a fresh design with tweaked headlights, twin DRLs on both sides and a revised front fascia. The C5 Aircross also gets new body cladding and alloy wheels, while the interior gets a host of new features such as a freestanding 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and additional cushioning for the seats with heating and cooling functions.
. The Citroen C3, on the other hand, sees a price hike of Rs 27,500 for the naturally aspirated petrol version, while the turbo-petrol variant goes up by Rs 20,000. At the same time, Citroen has introduced a new Feel 1.2 turbo-petrol dual-tone variant, priced at Rs 8.10 lakh ex-showroom. However, the automaker hasn’t made any changes to the gearbox or the engine. Why the price hike? First, the C5 received an update, and the official reason hasn’t been announced yet but it could be due to increased input costs that are passed on to consumers. The price hike may not affect the Citroen all that much, but if you’re in the market to buy a Citroen for yourself, it’s worth considering.
