Simple Energy has announced a delay in the start of deliveries of its flagship scooter, the Simple One. The company had announced in January this year that it would start its deliveries in June and then postponed it to September. Simple Energy announced a delay in resuming delivery of scooters due to recent battery safety guidelines issued by the Ministry of Highways and Road Transport. The scooter is ready to follow the new standards and safety guidelines and is set to start its deliveries in the first quarter of 2023.

The Simple ONE has a 7kW motor that produces 72Nm in peak torque. The scooter can go from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.85 seconds, making it the fastest electric scooter sold in India. The Simple ONE also features a dual battery setup with a fixed battery and a 7kg removable battery pack, with a total capacity of up to 4.8kWh. The fixed battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 2.5 hours while the removable battery takes 1.5 hours. The Simple One packs a tubular underbone chassis, sprung on telescopic forks and a monoshock.
It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with 90-section tires and also gets 100-section front and 110-section rear tire combination options. A 200 mm disc at the front and a 190 mm disc at the rear enhance the braking ability of the scooter. The Simple ONE is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom) for the standard variant with a range of 203 km (up to 236 km in ideal conditions) and Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom) for the Longer. -Range configuration with a range of more than 300 km with an additional battery. It is available in Brazen Black, Grace White, Namma Red, and Azure Blue colors and can be pre-booked for Rs 1,947 on Simple Energy’s website.
