Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has flagged off the “8 Wonder Exploration” drive with the popular IONIQ 5 EV.
The campaign was flagged off from HMILs corporate headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana. As the name suggests this is a drive that will cover the wonders of India. So, there are only seven wonders in India, why is it called the “8 Wonder Exploration” drive? Well, once the IONIQ 5 completes the drive in record time, Hyundai will declare the IONIQ 5 as the eighth wonder.

The seven wonders
IONIQ 5 will carry all seven wonders of India. If you didn’t know what they were, here is the list:
- Golden Temple (Punjab)
- Taj Mahal (Uttar Pradesh)
- Temples of Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh).
- Ancient Ruins of Nalanda (Bihar).
- Konark Sun Temple (Odisha)
- Hampi (Karnataka)
- Gomteswara Statue (Karnataka)
Record attempt
This is not only a journey to explore seven wonders in an EV but also a record attempt. HMIL will apply to the India Book of Records for making the journey the “Fastest EV Drive to Cover the 7 Wonders of India”. It will also be the first electric vehicle to achieve this feat.
