It has been half a year since Mahindra launched the Scorpio N SUV in the Indian market. And now the manufacturer has increased the prices in the Scorpio N variant lineup. The new generation of the popular SUV from the parent carmaker has now become more expensive by Rs 15,000 to Rs 1.01 lakh.
So now, the prices of the SUV currently start at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base petrol manual variant while the top diesel automatic 4WD variant is priced at Rs. 24.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
According to Mahindra, the price increase is due to elimination of introductory pricing, increased input costs, and other additional variables in its manufacturing process. Introductory pricing was applicable for the first 25,000 bookings only.
Price increase
The price hike varies by variant and powertrain options. The Z8 MT 4WD, which is only offered with the diesel engine, gets the biggest price hike of Rs. 1.01 lakh, while the top-spec Z8L AT has seen the least increase in petrol as well as diesel with minimal price increase. 15,000
The base petrol variant is now priced at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and the diesel range starts at Rs 13.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
The petrol variants Z2 MT, Z2 E MT, Z4 MT, Z4 E MT, and Z4 AT, all now cost Rs 75,000. While the Z8 MT and Z8 AT are Rs 65,000 more expensive than before, the Z8 L MT is up to Rs 55,000 more expensive. A final increase of Rs 15,000 is applicable on the Z8 L AT variant.

The Mahindra Scorpio N is available with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. While the petrol unit produces 200 bhp of maximum power and 370 Nm of torque, the diesel engine produces 172 bhp and 370 Nm.
