Mahindra has launched the new XUV300 TurboSport in India priced between ₹10.35 lakh and ₹12.90 lakh. The XUV300 TurboSport gets an all-new 1.2-litre T-GDi engine which is the range-topping engine available in the compact SUV range. This new engine is available in W6, W8, and W8 (O) variants. Mahindra claims that the XUV300 TurboSport is the fastest ICE SUV under ₹ 15 lakh. Bookings and deliveries of this new variant are scheduled to begin from October 10. Let’s take a look at what’s new:
The XUV300 TurboSport gets a new bronze color option. It also has a black dual-tone roof option. Other color options include white with a black roof and black with a white roof. The front has the most significant changes with Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo in the front grille. The grille has also been blacked out and has red accents. The same red accents can also be seen in the air dam below. The rest of the design elements remain the same with the familiar projector headlamps with LED DRLs moving towards the fog lamps.
On the side are new 16-inch alloy wheels that were recently introduced on the current model. The ORVMs are blacked out and the lower half of the doors have rough cladding. The reverse is more or less the same with the only change being that the variant badge now comes in red. The interior has a black theme with black leatherette seats. Apart from this, there are silver accents on the dashboard, center console and steering wheel and it also gets new chrome finished pedals. In terms of features, the XUV300 TurboSport is equipped with dual-zone climate control, 6 airbags, front parking sensors, a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with a front tire position indicator, push-button start/stop, rain . Sensing wipers etc
The biggest change is the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It produces 130hp and 230nm of torque (250nm with overboost function). It can sprint from 0-60 kmph in 5 seconds and gives a claimed mileage of 18.2 kmpl thanks to the idle start/stop technology. This new engine produces 20hp and 30Nm more than the current 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit. Both the engines will be present together and Mahindra will also carry the 1.5 liter diesel engine.
