Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of the S-CNG variant of the S-Presso. S-Presso CNG introduces dual fuel flexibility in the new S-CNG variant. The launch of Maruti Suzuki’s range of S-CNG vehicles aligns with and complements the Government of India’s vision to reduce oil imports and increase the share of natural gas in the country’s primary energy mix.
The powertrain of the new S-Presso S-CNG consists of the next-gen K-series 1.0L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. The vehicle is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and delivers a fuel efficiency of 32.73 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki has 10 S-CNG models on offer today. All of them are equipped with dual-dependency Electronic Control Units (ECU), an intelligent fuel injection system, stainless steel pipes and joints, as well as integrated wiring harnesses for the CNG system. The S-CNG system comes with a micro switch that ensures that the engine is shut down and does not start during the CNG refueling process.
The length of the S-Presso S-CNG variant is 3565 mm. The height of the LXI model is 1553 mm and the VXI is 1567 mm. The width of the car is 1520 mm and the wheelbase is 2380 mm. The engine delivers a maximum power of 65.5 PS at 5500 rpm in petrol mode and 56.69 PS at 5300 rpm in CNG mode. It has a maximum torque of 89 Nm at 3500 rpm in petrol mode and 82.1 Nm at 3400 rpm in CNG mode. The S-Presso CNG is priced at Rs 5,90,000 for the LXI version and Rs 6,10,000 for the VXI version, all ex-showroom.
