MG Motors India on 19Th October announced that they are ready to train 10,000 professionals under the Sarathi programme. The Sarathi program launched in 2021 aims to bring MG customer drivers up to speed with the latest technologies offered by MG cars in line with the CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric) vision. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Saha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) inaugurated the event and felicitated the participants at a function held in Noida. MG Sarathi works to train more than 10,00 drivers in India to equip participants with the latest features in MG cars. MG also recently announced its continued commitment to women empowerment by launching ‘MG Siva-Sarathi’, a motor driving vocational training program for economically weaker section women in Vadodara district.

MG Motors India is all set to launch an EV vehicle in the coming year priced below Rs 1.5 lakh in the Indian market to compete with Tata Motor’s locally made EV lineup. Rajeev Chaba, president, and managing director, MG Motor India, told ET that the company will source batteries for the products locally to keep prices competitive. With the vehicle in the mainstream market, the company expects EVs to make up a quarter of its sales next year. “For India, if we want to democratize technology, we need a low-cost solution.
