MG Motor India announced that its retail sales increased by 53% to 4,367 units in October 2022 compared to the same month last year.
This expansion is the result of the company making a total of 5008 units, including its 1000th electric car (MG ZS EV), which is also a record for MG India. This has been made possible thanks to the localization activities of the manufacturer, which has helped to increase the supply of semiconductors.
MG Motor is still focusing on meeting the demand of the customers. The start of deliveries of Astor, India’s first SUV with AI, in both CVT and AT variants, is now achievable thanks to the recent boost in manufacturing. Since its premiere in 2020, the all-new ZS EV, India’s first pure electric Internet SUV, has achieved a significant milestone, recording its highest ever retail sales of 784 units.
This success is due to the extensive charging network that is expanding across the country. The MG Hector, India’s first internet-delivered SUV, is doing well in terms of sales, and the business is set to introduce the next-gen Hector sometime this year.
MG has also announced that the compact, two-door Air EV will go on sale in India early next year, according to the British automaker. The possibility of a preview at the next Auto Expo 2023 is very strong. In India, the MG Air EV will be promoted as the company’s entry-level model with a length of around 2.9 meters and a wheelbase of 2,010mm, and with a battery pack of 20 to 25 kWh, the Air EV is a true It should be. Worldwide driving range 150 km.
A front-wheel-drive system with a motor can produce about 40 horsepower. Tata Auto Company, which has a joint venture with Chinese battery supplier Goshen for design, manufacturing, supply and servicing of battery packs in India, will supply battery packs for the Air EV locally. Additionally, it will use LFP cells, which are comparable to those found on the flagship Nexon EV offered here.
