The Gen-1 EV is an EV designed to replace an existing ICE car platform to carry batteries and an electric motor for an electric car. The Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options across variants. The smaller 19.2kWh battery comes in the base XE and XT, with the electric motor delivering 61hp and 110Nm, while the larger 24kWh battery produces 74hp and 114Nm. A larger battery pack is also an option in the XT variant but the XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux variants only come with a 24kWh unit.
The Indian automaker tops the electric four-wheeler sales charts in the country and also has the largest number of electric vehicles under its portfolio. The Tiago EV will be showcased in all major malls throughout the month with test drives for customers starting in late December. The company is expected to begin deliveries of the EV from January next year with a preference for larger models equipped with a 24kWh battery as the company looks to meet customer expectations with its new offering. The top models of Tiago EV come with some premium features rarely seen in cars of this class like rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control and full leather upholstery further enticing its buyers.
