2024 toyota c hr production version speculative rendering

The 2024 Toyota C-HR is speculated to be based on the Prologue concept – Dubai Car News

With its boldness and futuristic styling, the C-HR is not showing its age even though the subcompact crossover has been around for almost six years. With the Prologue Concept introduced at the beginning of last month, Toyota previewed the second-generation model that is expected to go on sale sometime in 2024. Segment model as a production version.

Already ruled out for the United States, the new Toyota C-HR will once again stand out from the current crop of small crossovers with a bold exterior design. Slicker “C”-shaped headlights are coming to the funky little crossover, along with wider taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler.

Although the rear door handles were hidden in the Prologue, they are visible here and are mounted at the same level as the front doors. Given how these are mounted above the C-pillar on the outgoing C-HR, Toyota is likely to stick with unconventional door handles for the second-generation model. It remains to be seen if the concept’s pop outdoor handles will be found on the road-going model.

The Japanese automaker has said the cabin will be more spacious, suggesting a slightly wider wheelbase with rear doors. However, the crossover won’t necessarily be longer overall as the overhangs will be shortened for the new model. Regular mirrors have been added to replace the Prologue’s side cameras. Toyota has said that three color finishes are planned for the more expensive version.

In addition to the visual overhaul, the 2024 C-HR will also feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain to join the already available self-charging hybrid. An all-electric model is not planned as the company is working on a separate subcompact crossover based on a dedicated EV platform for its “Beyond Zero” lineup.

When the premiere is due, Toyota has only said that the Prologue is “a vision of a car that will soon be roaming the streets of Europe.” This tells us that a late 2023 or early 2024 debut could be planned.
